As of October 12, 2026, Kling 4.0 is announced but not generally available. Kling says the full model launches in October without naming a day, and only an early build, Kling 4.0 Flash, has opened since September 28 to a limited group of paying subscribers. The headline change is length: single clips of up to 30 seconds, double what Kling 3.0 produced in one pass.

What Kling has announced

  • Clip length: 3 to 30 seconds in one generation (announced).
  • Keyframes: up to 10 per clip (announced).
  • References: up to 15 in total, mixing images and video clips (announced).
  • Audio: generated stereo sound with lip sync (announced).
  • 4K output: already live since April 23, 2026, so not new in 4.0.
  • 10-bit HDR at 4K and 1080p: listed by Kling as "coming soon".
  • Video extension up to 2 minutes: listed by Kling as "coming soon".

No price and no API model name had been published when this article went live.

Who can use Kling 4.0 now

Kling 4.0 Flash opened on September 28 to a limited group; Kling's post on X names Ultra yearly subscribers, and press coverage reports it is capped at 20 seconds and 720p. Everyone else is waiting for the full launch. Be careful with sites that claim to offer "Kling 4.0" today: a domain with "kling" in its name is not necessarily run by Kling AI.

How to prepare

  1. Write in shots, not paragraphs. Ten keyframes reward a storyboard: list what the viewer sees at 0 s, 3 s, 6 s and so on.
  2. Collect your references now. A product photo, a character sheet and a location image are exactly what a 15-reference limit is for.
  3. Plan the audio in the prompt. If the model generates sound and lip sync, the dialogue and the ambience belong in your brief.
  4. Produce today with what already works. On WorkCrafter, the video tool gives you several engines, the long video maker chains shorter clips into one film, and the free video editor assembles the result.

Our tips for Kling 4.0

  • Do not rebuild your workflow around a model you cannot test yet; wait for public access and real prices.
  • Treat 10-bit HDR as unavailable until Kling confirms it.
  • When Kling 4.0 opens, test one 30-second clip against two 15-second clips joined in an editor; longer is not always better.
  • Keep your storyboard model-neutral so you can switch engines in one click.
